I use this tool more and more to roll a fluted edge. Do you know what it is?

 

This Saturday, 7 May, District Clay will have an open house and pottery sale. The first 100 people in the door will receive a free cup, made by a variety of us. These are some of mine.

A small baker with oceanic traces, glazed in celadon and opal blue, with unglazed handles. The provenance of the shell is Assateague Island, not that it matters.

It’s blue if you pour left-handed, green if right-handed. It’s sometimes a mystery, but probably has to do with which way the winds were blowing in the hot kiln.
